Established in 1986, Progress Port, Inc. is a community-based organization dedicated to providing quality services and meaningful opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities.

Located at 1120 North Division Street in Carterville, Illinois, we provide a supportive and inclusive environment where individuals are encouraged to develop skills, increase independence, build relationships, participate in their community, and work toward their personal goals.

Supporting Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities

For more than four decades, Progress Port, Inc. has been committed to helping individuals live meaningful and fulfilling lives.

Through our developmental services, day programming, vocational opportunities, and community-based activities, we provide individualized support based on each person’s abilities, interests, choices, and goals.

We believe every individual has something valuable to contribute. Our role is to provide opportunities, encouragement, and support that allow each person to build upon their strengths and become as independent as possible.

Progress Port Recycling

Our commitment to the community extends beyond the services we provide to individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Progress Port Recycling provides a valuable recycling resource for Carterville and surrounding communities while also creating meaningful vocational and skill-building opportunities for the individuals we serve.

Our recycling center accepts a variety of recyclable materials and also provides bonded document shredding services, helping local residents and businesses responsibly dispose of recyclable materials and sensitive documents.

With a team of approximately 30 employees, Progress Port, Inc. may be a smaller organization, but our connection to the communities we serve is significant.

Our work brings together individualized services, vocational opportunities, community participation, and environmental responsibility. Whether we are helping someone develop a new skill, supporting greater independence, providing meaningful work experiences, or helping our neighbors recycle, our focus remains on making a positive and lasting difference.
